Visionize klybeckplus
Vision development for a new city area in the centre of Basel, in co-creation with all planning partners
Situation
Over the coming years and decades, one of the most important industrial areas on the Rhein is to be transformed into a new, mixed-use neighbourhood in Basel. Our task was to support the three planning partners in developing their long-term vision for this neighbourhood.
Process
The vision development took place in 2020 and broadly consisted of three phases: understanding the genius loci, jointly exploring the realm of possibilities, and deriving future potentials. To this day, Kühne Wicki continues to support the planning partners and provides future-oriented impulses in the ongoing development process.
Outcome
The publication of the vision provides a reference point that can be revisited throughout the demanding development process: a shared fundamental understanding of the site-specific potentials and ambitions of klybeckplus for Basel and beyond.
